Class 4, Assignment 4: Mars rover in OpenSim

Here's some screenshots of my Mars Rover build in OSGrid equipped with a solar panel texture

Class 4, Assignment 3: Group building in OpenSim

This was a fun assignment where my teammates and I created a city on sand! we used all the tools that we learned in assignment 2 in order to create this.

my teamates and I discussing our plans

A look at Michael Rodriguez' house

A couple more skyscrapers I worked on

There is light...

Dianas' tower comes into view

I'm in the Sam Bellar City Park

here's another angle

Michael taught me how to apply some texture and I did just that to the skyscrapers.

A shot of Michael and Diana's builds. great detail with the bricks and openable door's using script!

just admiring the city from Sam's park

final discussions in place

a couple of group shots below.

...and then it's all gone

Class 4, Assignment 2h: OpenSim Terraforming

This is the one assignment where I believe I was using the right tools in order to terraform the land, however I believe you need to be an "owner" of a piece of land in order to raise it which I am not.

trying to raise this land

Class 4, Assignment 2g: OpenSim Annoyances

These screenshots show how to deal with some annoyances such as animations, foot shadows, and turning off the user interface for cleaner looking screenshots.

stopping annoying animations

turning off foot shadows

turning off the ui

Class 4, Assignment 2f: OpenSim Linking Prims

In this assignment I learned how to link and unlink my prims. I did this by using the link/unlink tabs in the builder.

linking these two prims together

Class 4, Assignment 2e: OpenSim Prim Copying

This was probably one of the most useful features I learned. After watching the youtube video, I learned how to copy prims which saves a lot of time when getting into more complex building like the group project. All you do is click on your prim, hold down the shift key, and drag away to reveal a copied prim.

my prim

and then multiple copies of it

Class 4, Assignment 2d: OpenSim Building Grid

Here are some shots of me practicing how to better use the building grid. The biggest thing I learned was using the "snap" feature to get better proportioned prims

using the building grid.

by holding up, you can "snap" the prim into place

...and again

Class 4, Assignment 2c: OpenSim Undo

Here's a couple of screenshots on learning how to undo. After creating a prim, I moved it around a bit and learned how to "undo" this by using the undo feature in OSGrid.

moving the prim...

and undoing it...

Class 4, Assignment 2b: OpenSim Navigation

After watching the tutorial we learned how to maneuver around small tight spaces. At times the camera might block your sight but I learned it's best to use the first person mode under these circumstances. You could also teleport to different locations on a map which I have demonstrated below.

and again....

reaching upstairs in first person view

using the teleport feature to get out of that house!
